After she was finished taking care of her brother, it was several days before Kawazoe returned to school.
Shinya-sempai had been worried about her.
"I'm so sorry about what happened. I guess you wanted to wait until your brother got a little better to let me know if you want to go out. During the upcoming break do you want to go somewhere together?"
She immediately accepted.
The place they went was an amusement park in the outskirts of Tokyo.
It ended up being a group date but she was happy she could be with Shinya-sempai.
They gathered in front of the castle and talked about which rides they wanted to go on.
At that point, Kawazoe's cell phone rang.
It was a call from her mother, and she got a terrible feeling.
When she answered, the shrill sound of a siren was coming from the phone.
"Please come home right away! A fire started in the neighbor's house and now our house is burning!"
Her frantic mother was screaming with a tearful voice.
She immediately broke up the date and hurried back to her house.
When she arrived, the fired had already been extinguished. A burnt smell lingered in the air and the only things that remained where the house once stood were some charred posts.
In front of the house, he mother was standing barefoot in a state of confusion.

Something in the hand that was holding her cell phone clicked.
